Hippeastrum: Pride, haughtiness, elegance, grace
Spike: Type of long inflorescence without branching, formed by flowers fixed on a single axis. Similar to the raceme; the difference between them is the absence of pedicels in the spike’s flowers. E.g., gladioli.
